9 October 2013Nikolay Bogdanov, Partner, Patent Attorney, and Sergey Vassiliev, PhD, Senior Lawyer (both of Gorodissky & Partners, Moscow), gave presentations «Recent trends in parallel import & Legal measures to fight distribution of counterfeit goods» and «Draft amendments to the Civil Code (Part IV) and Intellectual Property Court in Russia» at the Seminars held by JETRO with the support of the Japanese PTO for Japanese industrial companies and IP law firms. Peter Baklakov, Chief of Department, the Russian Federal Customs, also gave a presentation «Customs measures to fight counterfeit products including IP protection within the Customs Union».
The Seminars gathered over 300 Japanese businessmen, patent attorneys and IP lawyers. On October 8 in Tokyo a meeting was held with officials of some Japanese companies that are active in fighting distribution of counterfeit products on Internet and preventing supplies to Russia such products.
