Law firm Gorodissky & Partners organized a webinar "Pandemics and Vaccines. A Patent View". Dmitry Klimenko, PhD, Russian & Eurasian Patent Attorney, Ekaterina Mosina, Russian & Eurasian Patent Attorney, and Oksana Karpenko, Russian & Eurasian Patent Attorney, (all from Gorodissky & Partners, Moscow), tried to look at 20th-21st centuries pandemic history and to see what was the biotechnologists world doing to be prepared for fighting them and how that was reflected in patent activities.
A particular focus was on the situation with patenting new COVID-19 vaccines in Russia as well as on political issues around permitting use of patented vaccines as an exception from exclusive patentee right in country pandemic emergency conditions.
