Opening of the Gorodissky branch office in Novosibirsk took place in October 2017

Gorodissky and Partners successfully executes its strategy for promotion of intellectual property services in Russian regions being centers for production of science-intensive products, creating of innovative technologies, and disruptive scientific and technical achievements by opening branch offices. The Novosibirsk branch office became the 12th office of Gorodissky & Partners in Russia.

Novosibirsk is the capital of Siberia and a large millionaire city. There are multiple scientific-research institutes and organizations as well as Novosibirsk Academgorodok (Russian: «Academic Town») which is one of the incubators for scientific personnel of the country. The science city of Koltsovo is located not far from Novosibirsk. There are many industrial companies in Novosibirsk and its suburbs. Therefore the decision to open the branch office of the law firm specializing in protection of intellectual property rights here is quite obvious.

Since we cooperate with many Institutes of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences we know that a lot of high-level scientific and technological developments have already been created here, but we believe that the potential of this region is not fully unleashed. R & D engineers, academic researchers, inventors and other creative specialists will require highly qualified assistance, experience and skills of patent and trademark attorneys and lawyers of our firm to develop and implement modern strategies for legal protection, management and licensing of the results of intellectual activity both in Russia and abroad.

The other important factor to open the branch office in Novosibirsk was the geographical proximity to our regional clients and partners from the Asia-Pacific countries.

There was a program of events on the occasion of opening of the Gorodissky branch which included 2 seminars:

During the seminar «Business Risks in the Use of IP Subject Matters and Protection of Rights for them» which took place on October 17 at the Marriott Hotel the discussion revolved around the risks that a business entity might bear if it does not pay due attention to protecting its intellectual assets.

On October 18 the seminar «Creation and Legal Protection of High Technology» was held in Novosibirsk Academgorodok. The seminar was designed for representatives of scientific-research institutes and industrial companies, as well as for specialists of innovative departments, patent experts, engineers, inventors, etc.

The leading experts of Gorodissky and Partners among whom were: Yury Kuznetsov, Partner, Russian and Eurasian Patent Attorney, Head of Patent Practice, Valery Narezhny, PhD, Counsel, Alexey Kratyuk, Partner, Russian Trademark Attorney, and Natalia Stepanova, Partner, Lead Lawyer, delivered their speeches at these seminars.
