Starting October 5, 2024 the amendments to the Regulations on Patent and Other Fees of the Russian PTO approved by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1278 dated September 18, 2024, came into effect.

Since March 1, 2024 by the order of the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology (dated February 13, 2024 № 208-st) enacted GOST R 15.011-2024 "Intellectual Property. PATENT RESEARCH. Content and procedure for conducting". This edition is introduced to replace GOST R 15.011-2022.

Law of the Kyrgyz Republic on Trademarks, Geographical Indications and Appellations of Origin of Goods entered into force (dated March 24, 2023, No. 70; published on March 31, 2023; entered into force on April 15, 2023)

A new law on patent attorneys went in force on December 21,2022. Several important novelties have been introduced.

Amendments have been introduced in the Civil Code regarding procedural matters in connection with protection of inventions, designs, appellations of origin and geographical indications to make them comply with international agreements. These are Patent Cooperation Treaty, Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement regarding registration of industrial designs and Geneva Act of Lisbon Agreement regarding appellations of origin and geographical indications.
