XVIII Winter International Arts Festival

Ilya Goryachev, Counsel (Gorodissky & Partners, Moscow) moderated the plenary session ‘Music Licensing’ at the X Anniversary International Conference within the Winter International Arts Festival in Sochi. In his presentation, Ilya Goryachev highlighted the key principles of legal clearance in the licensing of musical arts.

During the panel, participants discussed the following topics:

• How and where to get authorisation to use music and poems (step-by-step instructions)
• If you are a rights holder - how can you dispose of your rights?
• If you are a producer - how to organise an event, concert, broadcast, make a recording and clear all rights?

The conference attended by representatives of regional Ministries of Culture, regional cultural institutions, directors and artistic directors of concert organisations and festivals, managers of cultural projects, representatives of music educational institutions.
